The Distillery

The underground ripening cellar provides the perfect conditions for our schnapps to rest and mature in wooden barrels. It’s important to keep things natural at the storage stage too. Our distilled drinks can mature to perfection seven metres under the ground, where temperatures are kept constant.

We rely on an expert partner to produce our exquisite barrels just as we like them. Always using Swiss wood sourced locally from the likes of oak and cherry trees.

It takes a great deal of experience and skill to perfect the barrels for our distillery. The type of wood, toasting and timing are all important factors. The amount of time for which the distilled spirits are left in the barrel depends on the drink and the year. Making the decision as to when they are ready to be poured into the bottles is a challenge to relish. Urs Hecht has developed a special sense that allows him to make the right call time and time again. And voilà! The fine fruit schnapps is ready to be enjoyed.

We only ever use Swiss fruit. And we feel very lucky to work so closely with our long-standing partners. Together, we strive to achieve the highest of quality standards regardless of the year’s harvest.

The secrets to our success? Nature through the seasons. Healthy trees. Delicious fruit. And local fruit farmers who nurture their tall fruit trees. We join forces to discuss planting old varieties. Commitment and dedication equate to sustainability in action. And the result is the exceptional fruit we need to create our signature fruit schnapps that is nothing short of exquisite.
