Urs Hecht acquired a portable still from his father Fritz Hecht and went on to set up the commercial facilities for producing fine fruit schnapps. And he has always been clear about his standards, using only Swiss fruit from an elite list of producers.
Everything is under one roof, with the production facilities and shop in Gunzwil in the Swiss canton of Lucerne. Since 2008, the distillery, fruit store and ripening cellar have all been in one and the same building made from wood.
Gunzwiler Destillate Urs Hecht AG is a family company through and through. Urs Hecht and his wife Theres own the business, whilst their three children, Elias, Nina and Anja, have been helping out since a very young age. They are all supported by a strong team of employees, who are passionate about bringing the world the finest fruit schnapps around.
