Vieille Berner Rosen Apple Barrique
The Berner Rosen apple is a variety of Malus domestica. This winter apple was discovered by chance by F. Baumann in a forest near Oppligen in the canton of Bern in 1870. A nursery called Baumschule Daepp in Münsingen propagated the trees and the first fruits were harvested in 1888.
We wait until just the right moment to mash and distil our Berner Rosen apples. The liqueur is then transferred to a wooden barrel, where it is stored for several years.
The fruity flavour is unbelievably delicious, leaving a lovely lingering aftertaste.
